ENTERPRISE We have negotiated a 10% discount for our guests with Enterprise at all of the LA airports. Be sure to use reference code 32Y9999 when reserving online or by phone. enterprise.com US Toll-free (800) 736-8227 UK Toll-free 0870 350 3000 ![]() ORBITZ Orbitz is an easy way to compare rental prices online. They claim to have the lowest published rates, but with a little effort, you can often do better with the options below. orbitz.com ![]() HOTWIRE Another online-only option is Hotwire. You tell them the car type and pick-up location, and Hotwire displays the lowest available prices—usually (but not always) lower than you can find elsewhere. You won't know which car rental agency it is until you purchase, but they only work with major companies. The biggest down side is that they absolutely won't allow any changes or cancellations. Definitely worth trying. hotwire.com ![]() OTHER COMPANIES Along with Enterprise, these are the major agencies at LAX. If you're flying into another airport, make sure that the company has an office nearby. Calling the local office can be worthwhile, too: you can often negotiate lower prices or upgrades with the manager. alamo.com budget.com hertz.com avis.com national.com dollar.com thrifty.com |

We highly recommend renting a car. LA is almost impossible without one. Public transportation is almost non-existent and cabs are very expensive. Rental prices are extremely sensitive to supply and demand, and it makes sense to call around to the agencies for the best price. Enterprise and Alamo tend to be the least expensive, but the other companies do occasionally come up with better rates. |
